In the 116th Psalm, verse 15 is the scripture that I quote from the Amplified Bible, which says; "Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints -- His loving ones." When I meditate upon that scripture, I can see Jesus anew at Calvary.
Precious in the Father's sight was the death of Jesus, His only begotten Son. In His death man would be set free from the sting of death. In His death man would have redemption from sin. In His death man would overcome the curse of poverty. He gave himself a ransom for many (actually for everyone that would call upon His name) -- "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." John 3:16.
Many others have died because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Many have gWHAT IS YOUR LIFE

Many have given themselves fully to the ministry of Christ and were called home to be with him for all eternity, after living a full and fruitful life. Some have had their lives shortened by dreadful accidents even though they were in the full bloom of life, living for Jesus. One such man was Murray Dickson, a Methodist Missionary to Bolivia, killed in a traffic accident as he was forced off the side of the mountain. Examples of people giving their lives for their faith is not restricted to New Testament days, recent deaths of missionaries in Africa was only one of many examples where Christ's followers have met untimely deaths. We are told in the scripture that "the sufferings of the present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us." Romans 8:18. We know that Jesus ascended into heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father. We know that He promised eternal life to all who called upon his name. What heaven is like is beyond our understanding in this present life. Some bear witness of a glimpse while yet on earth of the beauty, the serenity, the joy of heaven, but none can tell the immensity, the glory, the full relationship in heaven. We only know that God has provided for every believer a home beyond the struggles, the trials, the problems of this world.
No wonder he said in His word, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints." Jesus brought us victory through his death. Many other saints have said all they could while they lived but their influence became even greater after their death. Might we name such men as John Wesley, Martin Luther, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. Augustine and many, many others.
It is not so bad to die. What's bad is not to live so that your death can provide memories of inspiration to those who are left behind. In everyday walking with Jesus, helping one another, bearing one another's burdens etc., our lives begin to make an impact on others. When I die, would people say about me, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
