Rosh Hashanah begins this evening at sundown, marking the start of the Jewish New Year and the beginning of the Fall Feast season. As we step into God's appointed time on His holy calendar, it is an incredible opportunity to connect, reflect, and prepare for the year ahead, Join us Sundays at 10:30 AM as we gather to pray and believe for breakthrough in this supernatural, miracle-working season.
Why is this season significant?
Rosh Hashanah is the Feast of Trumpets, a day when the shofar (ram's horn) is blown to announce the new year and usher in God's fall feasts: Rosh Hashanah (Sept 22–24), Yom Kippur (Oct 2), and Sukkot (Oct 6–13). These are God’s appointed holy days, and He calls us to honor them. As it says in Leviticus 23:4:"These are the LORD’s appointed festivals, the official days for holy assembly that are to be celebrated at their proper times each year."
Rosh Hashanah is a moment of divine appointment, a time to remember and honor God. It is not just about rituals but about engaging with the principles Jesus fulfilled—acknowledging God’s sovereignty, reflecting on His mercy, and aligning ourselves with His will.
The Season of Atonement
This holy season culminates in Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is considered the holiest day of the year. It is a time for personal reflection, repentance, and seeking God’s forgiveness. As stated in Leviticus 23:27:"You must observe it as an official day for holy assembly, a day to deny yourselves and present special gifts to the LORD."
The Day of Atonement is a sacred moment for reconciliation with God, where we approach His mercy seat with humility. Hebrews 9:24 reminds us that Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice for our sins, fulfilling the role of the high priest by offering His blood on the mercy seat in heaven. We are atoned for by His sacrifice, and this is why we honor Him during this season.
God's Invitation to Meet with Him
The feasts are God’s appointed times for us to meet with Him, to focus on His presence, and to prepare our hearts for the year ahead. As we enter the Day of Atonement, we are invited to come before God in obedience and humility, offering our very best to Him. As Deuteronomy 16:16-17 says:"Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you."
This season is a time to reflect on God’s mercy and grace, to bring our offerings, and to honor Him for what He has done in our lives. I encourage you to give your best Atonement offering and send your prayer requests to be lifted up before the Lord as we approach this sacred time.
Don't Miss Your Appointment with God!
This season is a divine opportunity to honor God and remember what He has done in our lives. As we prepare for the Day of Atonement on October 2nd, let us come before God with reverence, offering our prayers and sacrificial gifts. I am ready to take your requests before the Lord and believe for a release of His blessings over your life.
God is calling us to Remember Him, to honor Him, and to meet with Him in this sacred time. Let’s step into this divine appointment with faith, obedience, and expectation!
Grateful for His Mercy and Grace,
Your Friends at Church of the Savior
