Reverend Alloway’s Story - well, some of it.

A Little Church History

The Church of the Saviour was started by Rev. Dr. Henry O. Alloway, Jr. Rev. Alloway had been a pastor in the United Methodist Church in the Texas Conference for over 30 years until 1981 when he felt God's leadership to begin an independent work. But first let's rewind 20 years to one day in 1961. Rev. Alloway was as yet pastoring in the Methodist church, but on this particular day he found himself in attendance at an Episcopalian Healing meeting in Nacogdoches, Texas, where a converted Jewish Rabbi was leading a diverse group of Christians praising and worshiping the Lord.

COVID-19 Precautions

We have continued to meet for services and have made ourselves available for anyone that would like to or needs to come for prayer and worship. Jesus said, "it is not those who are well that need a physician, but those who are sick." There have been no hospitals that have shut down during this time and as we also are ambassadors of The Great Physician, Jesus, we are here. I've heard it said that all of these other doctors are just practicing medicine, but we have the Great Physician. Out of respect to others, and especially if you have any symptoms, please cover your face. All should observe proper hand washing and social distancing. All are welcome and there is ample room to maintain social distancing. At this time more than ever it is vital that the body of Christ - that means you and me - pray according…
